Melissa Delker, Associate Pastor

Pastor John DenmarkThe Reverend Melissa Delker B.A., M-Ed, M-Div has been the Associate Pastor since June of 2003, right after she graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary, Orlando campus. She lives in Melbourne with her three year old daughter Kaley. Like her mommy, Kaley loves Jesus and is proud that she is in God's family.

Melissa was born and raised in Ft. Pierce, FL where she likes to spend short weekends away visiting her parents and more importantly, the grandparents of Kaley. After high school she moved to DeLand where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Stetson University. Soon after graduation she began teaching special education while working on her Masters degree from Stetson. During this time she got involved with the youth ministry at a United Methodist Church and after 2 1/2 years of teaching, she resigned in order to work full-time in ministry. In 1999 she began attending classes at the new campus of Asbury Theological Seminary in Orlando. In 2003 she graduated, was commissioned as a probationary elder in the Florida Conference and took her first appointment in Melbourne. On June 2, 2006 she was ordained an Elder in Full Connection in the United Methodist Church.

Melissa enjoys being in play groups with Kaley, scrap booking, quilting, the beach and seeing a good movie. I am passionate about my work with the Genesis Houses in Melbourne, sharing the Good News about Jesus in fun and creative ways, and helping people discover who God has created them to be and how they should live that out in the church and throughout the world.
