Filipino - American Ministry
The Body of Christ celebrates diversity! A living testimony to this diversity is the weekly fellowship of Filipino-Americans coming together, worshiping every Sunday in the Chapel at First Church. Originally, the ministry catered mainly to Filipino and Filipino-American communities, but after more than a decade, the ministry has widened its reach. Breaking the barriers of language and culture, we have opened our doors to include Asians, as well as other nationalities into our fellowship. First Church is truly happy to provide a home for this diverse family of believers!
The Filipino-American Ministry aims to establish relationships with the Filipino-American and Asian immigrants living in the community. It is our desire to share with them the love of Christ, as we encourage them to be a part of a nurturing church community. Another distinctive purpose of our ministry is to help our members maintain a healthy balance in assimilating the American culture, while still preserving their cultural heritage connections.
Corporate worship, prayer meetings, small group Bible studies, counseling, home visitations, family devotions and meal fellowships are the various activities that add dynamism and bring forth spiritual growth into our ministry. Exuding the warmth of a close-knit fellowship, the Filipino-American Ministry continues to make an impact in the lives of its members. If you wish to be a part of our community, you are welcome to join us!
